kamameshi house in ssf, jason's bday, mark's bday and gypsy house in berkeley
another fun filled weekend.
friday started with my first trip to kamameshi house! me and piggy had won our first battle of pictionary against rad and erwin, and since they lost they owed us din din.
place is pretty bomb. they cook your rice with what ever type of meat in a pot and cook it all together until the bottom gets crispy...soooo bomb. i got the griddled chicken- which was a fancy way of saying stir-fry chicken. pretty good though. it was almost like an adobo based sauce. the chicken karage wings were hellllaaa good. and erwin's fresh sushi platter was bomb as well. mos def making a trip back out here.

after din...folks met up at my house to surprise jason on his bday at the cellar. safe to say we all had a great time...and i think we all needed it. i think we were all pleasantly surprised by how good the music was. and crass found out that derrick d from triple threat was spinning. no wonder! the first hour they played some sick ass reggae, and later on it go sooo packed in there i didnt kno what to do. happy bday jason! hope you had a good time!

the next day. saturday we celebrated mark's bday! trekked out to hot asssss vacaville to his sister's phat asss house and played a little flip cup with the folks. i had to sit out, still feeling a little tired from the nite before. Alan being the prankster that he is, filled mark's cup with maker's mark one round. was funny, but the look on mark's face told me that im not going anywhere near maker's mark for awhile! happy bday mark!

day after, woke up starving and i have been craving italian for a minute. hit up my east bay sista lea, and coincidentally pep hit up her up at the same time! we were going back and forth for awhile trying to figure out where to go, when finally pep suggested gypsy house in berk! across the street from top dog - can i just say that it was hellla good! and cheap! you figure that a lot of students are coming here, so they have to be pretty reasonable. me and lea split a pasta dish and pizza. hella good. highly recommend it if your in the area.
we got to play with elyssa too! crass and ramil met us up...and i think the best time to play with her is during the day. she's a ball of energy!

the following week, i wanna say Tuesday, it was hellllaaaa hot in sf. i hit up nell to see if she wanted to hit up the beach. score! she did, so we made our way to coast. it just nice to see the beach every once in awhile. gain some perspective.
my camera has a bunch of cool settings this time i was trying out the sunset setting...pretty tight if i do say so myself.

after the beach, we were trying to figure out dinner. after much debate, nell finds out that chef nickalaus is prepping some yummy goodness in the kitchen. they so graciously invited me, and i was once again humbled at his skills. That boy can cook!
it was his first time making focaccia and if you ask me, he nailed it on his first try! keep in mind its all from scratch, dough, sauce errrrrythang! i have to say anytime you cook, im there! he also whipped up some pork stuffed cabbage...sooo bomb. thanks for having me over nick and nell!

i must say truly blessed to eat good food with good friends. till next time. just some parting shots...fun with the camera!

new fish!
if you work in an office you know how mundane the days can get. how every now and then you need a break from your emails, excel sheets, and even chat.
which is why i have a fish tank! these guys are great. it good to jus stare at and watch them swim around with out a care in the world.
i currently got two new fish. because phatty, melvin, and ODB all died. (rest in peace) it was reallly sad. but hence new fish!
a black gold fish and a regular baby gold fish. hopefully soon they both grow and get really big. Mel, my friend at work is a fish guru, and we have sand in the bottom of the tank, with live plants. the tank cleans itself with bio-filtration hence a clean tank! its awesome.
today the black one is on a massive dump-age and has been shitting for the past two hours! ridic!

4th of july, tropisueno, twilight and j boog
what a couple of weekends....this past week was crazy....
the weekend before 4th of july i was trying hard not spend money. so what better way to do that then to go vallejo and be bored out there! My mom made some crispy pata which was sooooo deleesh. She makes it in her turbo cooker, so i dont feel too guilty eating it, cause its not deep fried, but still comes out just as crispy.
After foodie week came 4th of july weekend. on that Saturday a bunch of us had tix to reggae by the bay, and one of my favorite Hawaiian reggae singers was performing j boog! it was packed like sardines in there but def worth it. and we finally go to hear him perform some of his new songs! if your into good music, he is def someone you need to check out. it was from 2pm-2am. we got there around 6-7, and stayed till about 2am. pretty effin tired and faded, but good times non the less. im kinda bummed that i didn't get any group pics, but here are some i took jus for fun.

4th of july came. stopped by nani's house cause her whole fam was over there, and she was throwing down on the grill. still kinda bummed i didnt get to stay long. then headed out to vallejo which i thought i was going to get to see my aunt and uncle, but they left early which was kind of a bummer since i drove all the way out there. and i didnt get to eat at nan's. all good though. Then headed over to piggy's and thank gawd for that cause it lifted my spirits back up. and i found out about the new setting on my camera that is specifically for fireworks. got some pretty cool flicks and kicking it with the homies always makes me feel better.

and that's it...July is a busy month! non stop bbq's and parties, but i loving the summer and the sun. till next post.

DUCK THE FODGERS! BEAT LA!
The next morning after the game...i woke up super crampy. I thought it might have been cause i ate way too much. but after a couple hours and me going back and forth throwing up and having the runs....i decided i had food poisoning. it was probably the worst spell i have ever had ever! and come to find out that i had eaten expired cheese from the store downstairs in my building. it took me 2 nites and three days to pass the toxins. horrible!
lucky enough i was able to make it to our first official foodie dinner! me, tryenn, piggs and val planned a din to del fina, then watch eclipse after. That was my first movie out of the twilight series. Can i jus say that i love all these new vampire stories coming out. from true blood, to vampire diaries to twilight. its all very addicting to me. plus the boys in the shows are so hot...nice eye candy.
for some reason that Wednesday there was mad traffic everywhere! so instead of Del Fina (which is always a wait) i suggested tropisueno. its right across the street from metreon so it was perfect for us. my godmother and cousin took me to this place, and its pretty bomb. I tried their empanadas, and Molotes (a masa filled turnover type thingy). it was good, but a little doughy for my taste. I think i like La pinata's empanada's way better. (out in the east bay).
their plantains though i think are the best in the city. apologies for no picture. and the scallops, al pastor tacos, and ceviche were good as well. def a good spot in the city i would recommend to anyone that wants to have a nice sit down mexican dinner.
